The Tribunal Council has completed the hearings and the decisions were made for
these protested ancestors who were NOT IDENTIFIED as being an Algonquin
Thomas Lagarde dit St Jean
Sophie Emelie Jamme dite Carriere
Frederick Ferris and Walter Ferris
This affects hunting applications that have been submitted to the Bonnechere
Algonquin First Nation for this year’s harvest.
Those members that fall in the category of having only the listed removed
ancestors, will not be eligible to participate in this year’s harvest. Applications that
have certain names that are affected in their groups will be contacted to replace
those names to complete their applications.
Please note that we expect the enrollment process to open again in the future and if
any of these members find further information on their lines that could tie them to
a valid ancestor, you will have the opportunity to submit your documentation.
For more information on the outcome of the Tribunal Hearings on these 14
Ancestral Lines, click on this Algonquin Tribunal Link which will take you to the AOO Website.
Once you open this link, locate the tab “Algonquin Tribunal”.
Click on each Ancestor’s Name (listed on the left side) then a different page will
open. There are links located at the bottom of each page with the initial reports,
supporting documents, opposing documents and determination reports.
