Aecon Construction is accepting applications for four positions: 

  1. Co-op Student 

Required knowledge and Experience: • This position is intended for college and university students currently pursuing education in engineering, environmental and construction related fields• Computer competency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and similar programs)• AutoCAD knowledge is an asset• Strong communication skills – oral and written• Self-motivated with good organizational skills• Ability to work with others as a team 

  1. Site Administrator 

Required knowledge and Experience: • Computer competency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and similar programs)• Previous construction or general office administrative experience is preferred,including payroll and other time entry related programs• Strong communication skills – oral and written• Self-motivated with good organizational skills• Ability to work with others as a team 

  1. Labourer (Structures)

Required knowledge and Experience: • Previous construction experience is preferred• Class G drivers’ license or equivalent, AZ/DZ license considered an asset• Physical strength and stamina, manual dexterity• A safety-conscious attitude• The ability to work with others in a team and in a fast-paced environment• Ability to use stairs, ladders, and climb over rough terrain• Ability to work long hours per day sometimes in rough weather conditions• Union member or ability to join union  

  1. Hi-Rail Operator

Required knowledge and Experience: • Demonstrated experience operating equipment is necessary• Equipment operator certifications considered an asset• A-Z/D-Z License• Physical strength and stamina, manual dexterity• A safety-conscious attitude• The ability to work with others in a team and in a fast-paced environment• Ability to use stairs, ladders, and climb over rough terrain.• Ability to work long hours per day sometimes in rough weather conditions.• Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments• Good mechanical aptitude

The interprovincial MUP will connect the City of Ottawa’s Trillium Pathway and the NCC Voyageurs’ Pathway in Gatineau. In 2021, this historic bridge was renamed in honour of William Commanda who served as Chief of the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation and was a prominent community leader.The location and anticipated start date for these four positions is Lemieux Island Site Office, and 1785 Woodward Dr, Ottawa ON, and other locations as assigned in the Ottawa area.
