We are happy to announce that the Indigenous Internship Program (IIP) launched the second round of applications on May 23, 2023!    

The IIP is a 12-month paid internship designed to provide recent Indigenous graduates the opportunity to gain professional level work experience and a pathway to build and develop transferable skills that can be used to gain sustained employment in their field of choice.  

To be eligible to participate in the IIP, individuals must meet the following criteria:   

  • Self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit)  
  • Have graduated from a college or university with a diploma, degree or post-graduate certificate within the past five years. 
  • Live in Ontario during their placement term 
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada 

 
Opportunities for the 2023 IIP can be accessed through the OPS careers portal. The deadline to apply for the second launch is June 21st, 2023. . Please share the OPS cover letter and resume writing guide so students and recent graduates can apply the OPS best practices to their submissions!

 Information Session The Indigenous Internship Program Information Session will provide recent Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) post-secondary graduates, with the opportunity to engage our senior leaders about the Indigenous Internship Program and the OPS. This session will highlight key information about the internship, how we work and what to expect, including eligibility requirements, interview tips and an opportunity to participate in a Question-and-Answer session for any additional information you may be seeking. There will be two information sessions taking place on June 5th from 12 PM to 1 PM and June 7th from 1 PM to 2 PM. To attend this opportunity and add it to your online calendars, register for the virtual information session.
